FLASH Diagnostics Awarded TSSSU+ 2024/25 at HKUST Unicorn Day 2024
On May 31, 2024, FLASH Diagnostics joined the HKUST community in celebrating Unicorn Day 2024, a dynamic gathering of startups, researchers, investors, and industry leaders. We were proud to attend the RAISe+ Scheme and TSSSU 2024-2025 Award Ceremony, where we received funding under the Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities (TSSSU+).
This marks a meaningful milestone for FLASH Diagnostics. We were awarded HKD 865,000 under the TSSSU+ 2024/25 cycle, a funding scheme administered by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) of the Hong Kong Government. The program supports university-affiliated startups that aim to transform academic innovation into real-world impact—perfectly aligned with FLASH’s mission to redefine molecular diagnostics across industries.
Unicorn Day 2024 showcased over 100 innovation projects and brought together the vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem that’s growing out of HKUST. It was inspiring to see so many fellow startups taking bold steps in AI, biotech, green tech, and more. The event also featured the signing of five new strategic partnerships between HKUST and leading enterprises, reinforcing Hong Kong’s role as a hub for deep tech innovation.
We’re grateful to the HKUST Entrepreneurship Center, HKUST Office of Knowledge Transfer, and the Innovation and Technology Commission for their continued trust in our work. The TSSSU+ support will help us further develop our diagnostic technology, expand validation studies, and accelerate time to market—starting with infectious disease diagnostics in the veterinary sector.
